Start at the bottom

Crushing candies on the bottom is better than crushing candies at the top, because candies drop down, creating the potential for a cascade effect that essentially gives you free moves.

Understand striped candies

Candy is striped in the same direction as the last candy moved to complete the formation. If your move a candy vertically, it will make a vertical stripe, which will then explode vertically as well.

Clear jellies at the edge

When clearing jellies, focus on the edges and corners. These jellies have the least number of combinations which can eliminate them, so will be the hardest to get rid of.

Move ingredients close to the middle

Avoid moving ingredients to the far right or left of the board – this makes it much harder to get them down to the bottom. Try to move the ingredients closer to the middle by crushing candies. Unless forced, never move an ingredient to a square with no exit underneath.

Eliminate the most dangerous candies first

If you let bombs or chocolate squares run away with themselves, your game can be over before it starts. Try to clear the most dangerous candies first, so you can focus on completing the challenge.

Pick your combinations wisely

The two best combinations are the wrapped candy and the striped candy, and the colour bomb and the striped candy. Together, they can wipe out over half the board. Also, a wrapped candy switched with another wrapped candy will ignite a 6 by 4 square which can clear a huge area.

Make the most of +5 candies

The trick to passing timed levels is getting as many +5 candies as possible to add more time to clock. The +5 candies drop every time you make a move which causes a cascade of 4 or more combinations. Make sure you crush the +5 candy to add five seconds to your timer.

Reshuffle your candies without losing a life

Sometimes you can tell that you are going to have a hard time completing a level before you even begin. If you press the exit button before you make any moves, when you come back the candy will be reshuffled, and no lives will be lost. Unfortunately this trick does not work on time challenges.

Don't waste gifts from friends

You only have a maximum of 5 lives, so don't accept lives from your friends until you can use them. If you accept lives when you are already at the maximum, the lives are wasted. The level that you are on when you accept a +3 moves will be the level those moves must be used on, so only accept a +3 moves when you are really struggling.
